This month we celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s Spanish, Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American communities.

This photo of a wedding reception by Cuban-born photographer Anthony Mendoza was chosen as part of Professor María Luisa Parra-Velasco’s course "Spanish for Latino Students II" which explored works by Latinx and Latin American artists at the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Art Museums.

Alejandro de la Fuente

As director of the University Consortium for Afro-Latin American Studies Alejandro hopes to transform the study of the history and culture of peoples of African descent in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Renata Koch Alvarenga

While a student at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Kennedy School, Renata partnered with the World Food Programme to develop policy recommendations for climate disaster preparedness in Caribbean island states.

Kellie Ann Jurado, a ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Griffin GSAS alum, and her team are shedding new light on fundamental immunobiology to discover and identify opportunities to improve the health of children.

Raquel Eidelman Cohen

After emigrating from Peru, Raquel Eidelman Cohen graduated with the first coeducational class at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Medical School in 1949.

Jean Andino

Jean Andino, a ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ School of Engineering alum, was one of the first Hispanic women in the U.S. to become a tenured engineering faculty member.

Andrew Manuel Crespo

The first Latino president of the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Law Review, Andrew is now a faculty member at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Law School.
